This is the very first vintage of Syrah from Kærskov Vineyard. This wine leads with red fruit and hints of fresh earth, making this a bright yet full-bodied Syrah. With elements of dried oregano and cranberry, this wine progresses towards hints of boysenberry and cocoa. The finish is smooth and mellow with lingering traces of ripe, dark plum.
This whole cluster Grenache is a Carr Winery first! This is the first vintage from Kærskov Vineyard, located in Los Olivos District in Santa Ynez Valley. The clusters are gently hand rolled during fermentation, creating a beautiful, ruby red wine with inviting notes of dried cranberries and rose. Flavors of maraschino cherries and cinnamon blend harmoniously together, leading into a distinct and bright finish.
The first wine bottled from KÆRSKOV vineyard is the 2017 Shape by CrossHatch Winery. It is a Rhône Rosé with 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre. The Grenache and Mourvèdre come together to shape this Rosé into a well rounded and invigorating work of art. Soft aromas of rose petals, citrus, and fresh strawberries introduce this Rosé while clean crisp flavors of bright cherry and lemon zest meet on the palate to create a refreshing sensation.
Inky dark purple and ruby colors coat the glass. Great aromatic intensity of blueberry, chocolate and clove. Soft and velvety, this fruit forward syrah shows bright acidity with nice nuances of cinnamon, toasted almonds, boysenberry pie and a touch of earthy mushroom.

This head trained Grenache was made using our hand rolled whole cluster technique. Each cluster was placed in small fermenters where they were very gently rolled by hand making sure not to break any of the stems. The yeast penetrates the skin of the berry and ferments the juice inside allowing for optimum skin contact during fermentation. The pressure inside the berries builds until they explode. This approach to winemaking creates a very delicate fruitful wine with a silky rich finish.
The Shape is a Rhoné Rosé co-fermented blend made of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvédre. The fruit was grown at the Kærskov Vineyard in the Los Olivos District AVA of Santa Barbara County. The two varietals were picked on the same night and then gently crushed and soaked to extract color before pressing. The juice was cold fermented in stainless steel and aged for 6 months. This allowed us to capture the light but complex flavors that the two varietals have to offer. This is a great summer wine that should be enjoyed outside with the best of friends.

The fruit was hand picked and gently pressed to produce a delicate light rose hue. This dry rosé has aromas of peach blossoms and pink lemonade. These flavors are complimented by refreshing hints of melon and honeydew. A slight minerality balances out its bright acidity on the finish and will have you coming back for more.
